It's What's On The Inside That Counts

Made With Coconut Oil, Why?
For one, it adds depth and deliciousness to the flavor. More importantly we use organic coconut oil instead of gmo filled, heavily processed other oils because of the health benefits. We’ll get a little nerdy here, so move on or tune in….Coconut oil is composed of about 87% saturated fat. It is also composed of about 58% medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs). MCTs are absorbed in the small intestine cells then travel into the liver where they are used for instant energy which helps burn fat. Saturated fat is known as the “bad” fat due to the perception that all saturated fats raise LDL cholesterol (the bad cholesterol) which is linked to cardiovascular diseases. However, not all saturated fats are bad. In fact, coconut oil is an accepted saturated fat due to its high content of MCTs and its ability to actually raise HDL cholesterol (the good cholesterol). It also helps to lower the total cholesterol to HDL ratio (which is a much more important indicator to heart disease than looking at levels of LDL alone).
Organic Ingredients You Know, Why?
Doesn’t it feel good to read, pronounce and know what the ingredients are in the food you eat? We admit we may not know you, but since you’re here and reading this we’re guessing you prefer not to put synthetic chemicals such as human-made pesticides and fertilizers into your body, nor do we think your body would be stoked to have genetically modified organisms (gmos) messing with it’s mojo….are we right??

Natural Healthy Energy, Why?
Coconut oil is high in MCTs (medium-chain triglycerides), which your body metabolizes differently than LCTs (long-chain triglycerides). MCTs provide a rapid energy source that your body can absorb and use faster than other types of saturated fat. In addition, granola has long been used by activity enthusiasts to provide extra energy and protein during endurance activities. Putting the two together is what some might call a power couple!
